Twilight Saga: New Moon (29/11/09)

The Catch: Do I even have to give one?

Knowing that their presence could bring an enormous danger to Bella Swan's (Kristen Stewart) life, Edward Cullen and his family decided to leave the town. Desperately living her days in sorrow, the sullen Bella has become addicted to jeopardize her life, hoping that her vampire hero would come back and save her once again. Instead of Edward, it was her childhood friend, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) who's always been there for her.

As soon as Bella stumble upon the enemies, she learns that Jacob was actually a member of the jysterious Quileute tribe and could transform into a werewolf. After lots of race one against another, Bella finally reveal the true reason why Edward has to leave her.

The focal point is that Bella has to choose between Edward, the love of her life and yet always in suffer or Jacob, the charismatic long time friend who has been carrying the torch for her from the first they met.

Aside from the two heart-throbs Pattinson and Lautner, the fans will also be amused by new characters such as, Dakita Fanning (Coraline, Push) and Michael Sheen (Underworld) who plays Jane and Aro accordingly, the Italian vampire clan Volturi.

Although this is quite a handful sequel, generally director Chris Weitz is playing safe by mesmerizing teens all over the world with presenting New Moon in a sense like what Catherine Hardwicke did it with the Twilight.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (29/11/09)

The Catch: Surviving Foxes

Being a wild animal himself, Mr. Fox (voice by George Clooney) was a thief by nature. After his wife's (voice by Meryl Streep) made him swore not to do it again, Mr. Fox has agreed. However, boys will be boys. After 12 fox-years, he trips to his old habit. Planning and conducting a master thievery, he finally got his lessons to learn. I am sorry to say, there was nothing fantastic about this movie, you simply wouldn't miss much.

Beyond A Reasonable Doubt (28/11/09)

The Catch: (none)

Ambitiously want to lure a dirty D.A. Martin Hunter (Michael Douglas), an investigate-reporter CJ Nichols (Jesse Metcalfe) with a help from his best friend, deliberately place himself as a suspect in a homicide case. However, things was not working the way it supposed to be. His buddy was killed and CJ was sentenced to a death penalty.

Leaving him with no choice, Nichols ask his girlfriend, Ella, to help him dig out information herself to proof that Hunter, who happens to be Ella's boss, is the bad guy. A little surprise at the very end, honestly change my p.o.v to this movie.

Christmas Carol (28/11/09)

The Catch: Carey hates Christmas?

With a little disappointment leaving the cinema, I find this movie a little bit monotonous. Aside to the vivid visual display, I don't think I would like to watch it for next next Christmas. I think The Grinch (another anti-Christmas character, played by Jim Carey a couple years back) is slightly better.

An Education (27/11/09)

The Catch: What's the message behind?

Girls, what do you think your controversial father would say when you're dating a much older man? Scream or furious or deadly silent? That's what I have in mind, but I didn't see what's coming in this movie. Molina who plays Jack, the strict-introvert father, has accepted David (Sarsgaard) very well in his house when he finds out that he's dating her daughter Jenny (Mulligan). After a few ups and downs, of course the relations didn't work out.

I didn't mean to spoil the story to those of you who haven't watched it, because I think it was not the main message. I guess every young girls should watch it, it's a real 'education' of life. Like my aunt used to say to me; To learn from your experience is a good teacher, but to learn from other's experience is the best teacher of all.

Informant (27/11/09)

The Catch: Bourne the 4th?

Apparently, not at all. Although this is a true story, I must say it was quite boring to watch. Slightly funny but lots and lots of talking. Kinda like a mini reunion of the Ocean's Trilogy casts, even though Clooney only plays the director role.

Case 39 (27/11/09)

The Catch: Curiosity, it looks like The Orphan.

It was a casual horror movie, with demon inside little child. Something like The Omen mix with The Orphan. Not another 'Bridget Jones Diary' for Renee for sure.

Coraline (3D - 16/11/90)

The Catch: (none)

I really don't like 3D movie, the glasses makes me uncomfortable. To go with this movie? Another dizziness to struggled for about 100mins. It's a gloom and blue movie, are you sure it's not of Tim Burton's? :p

Amelia (16/11/09)

The Catch: A bit curious on how she 'vanished'

Although it's kinda intriguing, I find this movie a little bit boring. Watching her ambition in each of the expedition was just so-so to me, but there's always a love story to spice it up.

2012 (14/11/09)

The Catch: Another armageddon

It's completely massive destructive!!! Definitely great visual effect, the story kinda predictable though. Don't wait for the DVD, surely... You wouldn't want to missed this one.

Hump Day (11/11/09)

The Catch: They say Lynn Shelton is the female of Apatow

As much as I like to know a lot of things, this is not one of them. I just think it's gross to watch 2 straight guys 'doing it' for the sake of arts. More to ego, i guess. This is a complete strange idea of a movie and I watched it without even knowing any of the cast. Hhhmmm... Something to think about.

Astro Boy (11/11/09)

The Catch: ...

I watch this movie just because I love to go to cinema having a movie or two. Never occur to my mind that I'd cry over a -so called- children's movie. I somehow feel like Cage's voice is overwhelming in Tenma's character as a father. So soothing and 'cloudy'. Having said that, I have this personal feeling that he really is a family man.

Spread (02/11/09)

The Catch: Kutcher's new cougar

I'm startin' to sense that Kutcher's always in a movie surrounded by cougar lately. After Pfeiffer in Personal Effect, now Heche? Is he trying to build up this particular image out of his personal life? Whatever it is, he is a stunning 'spread'!

In reality, I do admit that he and Moore are a great couple. The relations with Willis -both Bruce and Rummer- also worked out just fine. Heche, in the other side, is a bit confusing. Is she a 'bi'? Love her new look here, the long-do fits her well.

Love Happens (02/11/09)

The Catch: Just wanna see how Aniston's hangin'

I must say this is not her best movie. A bit gloomy, not so much of comedy. Eckhart too, I think he's better in No Reservation. To sum-up: it's just... so-so.

This Is It (01/11/09)

The Catch: Final Tribute

Mesmerizing Music-Mentary! Although I'm not a big fan of MJ but I will surely burst into tears if I get the chance to watch his concert live. Can't believe he was half century old OR the fact that his absence in music industry was a decade long, nonetheless his spirits and passion never fades. His into every details, tempos and beats. One h*ll of an artist.

Some funny pick-up from me;
MJ got a huge palms / In certain angle, he looks like Julia Roberts / The glitter red shirt, tucked-in a black grey suit, that he was wearing during one of the rehearsal is sooo Monte Cristo / Heard of recent news that the first week premiere of This Is It was not as good as Disney's Hannah Montana (edited 11/11/09: in the end, of course MJ beats Hannah Montana phufff...)

Above all, my favorite is still the Smooth Criminal. It's just that too bad there's no 'leaning' this time.
So... "Annie Are You Ok?"

Jennifer's Body (01/11/09)

The Catch: Chick Flick

Pyuckkkksss! Don't watch it unless you really really in love with Fox. She's a hottie alright, but shewolf-wannabe? Think it's a bit too much. Slow pace and limited cast, thanks but no thanks.
